Privacy Policy

Who We Are

Mama’s Crock (mamascrock.duckdns.org) is a slow cooker recipe blog. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Comments

When you leave a comment on the site, we collect the information shown in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help us detect spam. An anonymized string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience so you don’t have to fill them in again for a follow-up comment. These cookies last for one year. If you have an account and log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies, which contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices.

Embedded Content and Images

Recipe images on this site are used to illustrate the dishes described in each post. If we ever embed content from other websites (for example, a video), that content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website directly, and those third-party sites may collect data about you and use their own cookies.

Advertising and Analytics

We do not currently display third-party advertising or use analytics tracking on this site. If that changes in the future (for example, to support the site through advertising), this Privacy Policy will be updated to disclose the specific services used, what data they collect, and how you can control or opt out of that data collection, before any such service is enabled.

Affiliate Disclosure

Mama’s Crock does not currently participate in any affiliate programs. In the future, some posts may include links to products (such as kitchen tools or ingredients) through affiliate programs like Amazon Associates. If a link is an affiliate link, we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through it, at no additional cost to you. We only recommend products we’d genuinely use ourselves, and any post containing affiliate links will clearly disclose that fact near the top of the post, in accordance with FTC guidelines.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users who register on this site (if applicable), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have left comments on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obligated to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
